ReviewTitle: “Promethium: Unbound!”
Synopsis: The Terminator returns with a plan to deal with both H.I.V.E. and the New Teen Titans!
Writer: Marv Wolfman
Penciler: George Pérez
Inker: Romeo Tanghal
It’s said heroes are only as good as the villains they battle. That certainly seems to be the case with the Titans and the Terminator, whose face-offs always make for strong stories. (To be fair, this reviewer has to question how much familiarity with later classics like “The Judas Contract” contribute to the enjoyment of this story.) The one-on-one battle between Starfire and Terminator is a highlight, while Robin’s convoluted explanation of the Titans’ escape borders on silly. On balance, though, this is a strong issue that further establishes the Terminator as the Titans’ top foe.
Cool factor: The Terminator. He gets better with each outing.
Not-so-cool factor: Robin’s explanatory monologue. Seriously, it’s the villains who are supposed to spill the beans like that! You’re smarter than that, Dick!
Notable: Origin of Changeling.
