Title: “Friends and Foes Alike!”
Synopsis: While half the team searches for the killers of the Doom Patrol, Changeling’s convalescence on Paradise Island goes awry.

Writer: Marv Wolfman
Penciler: George Pérez
Inker: Romeo Tanghal

With its stunning cover, New Teen Titans #13 was the first issue of this legendary Bronze Age series this reviewer purchased new off the rack. The stunning design is classic George Pérez, but the intricate detail work is a testament to inker Romeo Tanghal’s rapid growth on this series. The story beneath the cover is a winner, too, with strong character work and smart connectivity of the new team’s continuity to DC’s storied past. One down note: The team’s “witty” banter can be painful at times. The interior art is quite nice – though never as nice as that cover!

Grade: A-

Cool factor: The gorgeous George Pérez cover. Also: Doom Patrol!
